Won the Lottery

In 2001, I placed a 5% down payment on a house that was priced at $389,000. Quite a few people shared reservations that I wasn’t making a very wise decision. One aunt who had previously lived in SoCal seemed almost angry at me. Well I ran the numbers and came to the conclusion that the purchase made sense for me.

Yesterday, I received the money for the sale of that house. It was A LOT of money. The amount of profit was insane. I am another winner in the California home seller lottery. The reason I’m a winner is because I’m not buying another home. More on that topic in another post.
