The last book I read was a little too tough to follow at times, so I backed it off a bit and read a book that covered the basics of hormones and metabolism.
Hormonal Balance: Understanding Hormones, Weight, and Your Metabolism by Scott Isaacs was exactly the book that I needed. It helped me understand the role of hormones and fat loss. It isn’t a great book, but the foundation will be helpful when I do read more scientific articles.
If you are overweight and need a book that explains the role of hormones, this is the book for you.
UPDATE (3/26/2009): Drat. Looks like I read the 2002 edition. There is an updated 2006 edition.
